  2. The VERY venerable Rev. Dr King sent his VERY venerable wife Coretta a bouquet of flowers whenever he was out of town on a speaking engagement, when she was not accompanying him.

    On the day of his assassination, Dr. King sent her a bouquet of ARTIFICIAL flowers, saying if I am remembering correctly, that these would last longer...so his dear wife Coretta first heard the news from him, before the tragic inevitability had actually occurred.

    This story was relayed to me several days after the death of our beloved Rev. Dr. King, by someone close to their family, to share with other civil rights activists in my area.
