  1. Oh, boy, we're going to need a fund-raiser and a truck for this pile of paper.

  2. Inquiring minds wait with anticipation the information obtained from Theresa's public disclosure requests.

In a community that is turning out lights and cutting back on it's public safety staff to try to make ends meet, inquiring minds want to know how many taxpayer dollars were expended on a project that was abhorrent to the citizens?

How much did it cost the taxpayers to try to force on the citizens a project that would have benefited a very few at the expense of citizen health?

What did that cost Mason County and the Port of Shelton?

Maybe we should also inquire what the EDC spent? The same EDC who has now had their funding from Mason County's taxpayers doubled (from $32,000 to $64,000 annually). I wonder what they have into this failed project.

  4. Not to add more fuel to the money bonfire, but in the Public Notices section of this weeks MCJ, it says that the county will be spending over $111,000 to increase the size of road signs from 30" to 36". This when County roads already have enough Botts Dots and reflector sticks to make a Gypsy caravan go blind. According to the notice, each post will cost $43, each sign (material) $54, labor for each sign is $38 and vehicle(?)for each sign is $25. That's $160 for each sign, or 695 signs for a total cost of $111,200. This reeks of a private contract. WHO-YA! IT'S RAINING MONEY OUT THERE! Grease me palms mon, grease me palms.

  5. I wish you had made that up, but given how our county spends the taxpayers dollars, I suppose it's true. Public Disclosure Request: Which friend or relative, of which friend or relative, of which County Commissioner, got that little contract?

Count us "in" as helpers when you are ready.
Look-out Commissioners -- the citizens have grown very wise by now.
