Pictures from the fair

Submitted to Shelton Blog by Shelton Blogger

ADAGE (Duke, Areva) and Incinerator free mason county both had booths at the county fair. My, the ADAGE both looks sterile and cold. I did not go to the fair. Thanks to all who went and personed the incinerator free booth and thanks to DJ and John Smith for sending in these pictures.

Clearly they're unhappy with Mr. Smith recording them and what they're telling the public..."We're the company brining CLEAN energy to Mason County."
Uh...yeah, if you want to define that phrase truthfully, they're coming to Mason County for the federal largesse ($75 million) and carbon credits for burning NorthWest forests. The more of our woodlands they burn, the more official forgiveness from carbon taxes Duke Energy (a coal company with pollution spewing facilities all over America) they will receive. The equation is simple and direct: Burn trees, evade fees! All pursuant to the legal fiction of 'carbon neutrality', the argument that somehow burning our forests will have less climate impact than less harmful forms of CO2 emissions.

  2. The other insane arguement is that somehow carbon spewed by a local company is somehow better than carbon spewed by a global company.

Please vote for new blood in our 35th district for state senator. Justin Stang is running as a write-in candidate in the primary.
I did not see ANY candidates for Mason County Commissioner speaking at last night's (Tues @ 7:00 pm) candidates forum at the Olympic College library. How come?

  4. The candidates for the 35th district, as well as for Mason County Commissioner District 3 will be at the forum on August 3rd. Same time and location.

  5. Any "Impeach Tim Sheldon & Linda Ring Erickson" signs available for outside the forum? T-shirts?
It'd be helpful if a lot of the 'clean-air' T-shirts were worn to the forum. The media will be there.
