Downtown Monitoring Site Paperwork Missing?
Submitted to Shelton Blog by John Cox Mason County Progressive
City of Shelton Administrator Dave O'Leary seems to not be able to find the paperwork that ORCAA sent the City regarding the installation of the new air pollution monitoring site in the Shelton downtown area.
If any of our readers want to volunteer to help Dave find the paperwork or offer suggestions to help Dave find the paperwork, he can be reached at (360) 432-5110.
Just in case Dave is too busy searching to talk to you, his secretary, Vicky can be contacted at (360) 432-5105.
The local air-breathers thank you for your support!

NO! It seems it's the City Attorney (from Seattle) who has the paperwork for review.

Maybe we should go to ORCAA and get the paper work and hand deliver it to the city!
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should go to the City and help Mr. O'Leary and his secretary find the paperwork...
ReplyDeleteA visit to his office from some of our air-breathing citizens might help motivate him.
I'm pretty sure I saw the remains of the paperwork floating on a plume of smoke coming from the Simpson Mill.
ReplyDeleteMr. Moody of ORCAA just called me and said the paperwork is with Curt Johnson, the Facilities Director...
ReplyDeleteMr. Moody said it will be two weeks out now for the installation of the monitor, from when they get the paperwork back, so middle of April, rather than end of March. (This assumes Shelton share our urgency and moves on this!)
Also, phone calls to Steve Goins of the City might not be amiss if it helps get them to look at and act upon the paperwork in connection with the downtown air monitor...
Thanks for your efforts,
Ah so it's being tied up by our brand new metropolitan park district. $25 down the drain..
ReplyDeleteOh no, it gets stranger as the day goes on.
ReplyDeleteThe City's attorney, a lady lawyer from Seattle, is supposed to be reviewing the "contract" between ORCAA and the City for the new monitor...
I will play detective over the next couple of days to find out and report where the process is.
How convenient for a certain business if the placing of the monitor is delayed, and delayed, and delayed...
Hope all air-breathers show up at next Monday's City of Shelton meeting (April 4 at 6:00 p.m.) to let the city know of our urgent desire to have a monitor downtown NOW.
