The Port of Shelton has approved an agreement with Northwest Event Organizers to put on the 2011 Mason Area Fair. This corporation was formed by John and Rachel Hansen who organized last year's Fair and the agreement was approved Tuesday on a 2 to 1 vote.
Commissioner Jack Miles voted against the use agreement saying he was not comfortable with voting on the contract until after an investigation into a complaint filed by a Port employee over the use of the Fairgrounds was completed. That complaint relates to alleged inappropriate actions and statements by the Port's Executive Director when dealing with the Fairground property, its upkeep and the Hansens.
