On October 5, 2010, the Port of Shelton Commission decided to eliminate commission workshops, thus taking away still another opportunity for the public to give helpful/vital input when the Commission is in a decision making process. The reason given was that “meetings are over loading the staff”.
Commissioner Jack Miles is announcing that “Town Hall Meetings” will take place at the Port of Shelton Office on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.Said Commissioner Miles, “I feel very strongly about public input. What the Commission has done by eliminating the workshops, is to eliminate public input. This is just another attempt to keep the public from having a voice in what goes on in their community. The Town Hall Meetings will be held in the Commissioners' Chambers and is definitely open to the public, and your voices will be heard. Whatever concerns you have regarding issues at the Port of Shelton...bring your problems or solutions or both. I will be happy to let you speak...come and be heard."
The Town Hall meetings will begin at 2:00 pm, and Commissioner Miles will stay until everyone has had a chance to speak. The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 12th.

Thank You, Commissioner Miles!
ReplyDeleteWe need Town Hall Meetings, especially now!
There is much to discuss, much to decide for ourselves, our neighbors and our area. Hope to see you there.
Jack, you rock!
ReplyDeleteYou do realize that many of us cannot attend meetings held at 2:00 p.m. Perhaps you might have one a month in the day time, and one in the evening for people who work?
Thanks for your continuing efforts on behalf of the pesky citizens of Shelton and Mason County!
